By Kemi Mobuse - Friday, April 01, 2016

“If you have a web site, you are a publisher. If you are on social media, you are in marketing. And that means that we are all relying on our words to carry our marketing messages,” - Ann Handley.

With owning a website, you have to realize that, its your end customers that matters more than anything else;  as your customers don't buy your product to do your company a favor, They're doing it because your product makes their lives better. So if you want to sell something, you need to explain how you're helping them.” and this can only be done properly when you have a good website that speaks loudly without being too overwhelming.

This is where Jobberguy comes in, he creates websites that defines the essence of what you do, and how you do it and even more,
His interview with KMB was brief, but straight to the point....

Kemi Mobuse blog: Can we meet you?
Jobberguy: I am Bankole Olomu
Kemi Mobuse blog: What do you do?
Jobberguy: I studied Food Science and technology but had my professional certification in supplier management. I currently work in a multinational company here in Nigeria, but few years ago, I pursued my passion in Web design and Animations, Which I do as a private practice.
Founded and registered Jobberguy Web concepts in 2010 under which I have been operating.

Kemi Mobuse blog: What exactly does your work entail?
Jobberguy: I design websites, manage social media accounts for some businesses, and also do Explainer Videos for Businesses. In addition, I compile and sell eBooks, like my current best seller, which is currently making the rounds on Instagram titled: Instagram marketing made easy.

Kemi Mobuse blog: So, it's safe to say, your brand is 6years old now right?
Jobberguy: Yes, It is 6 years on 28/03/2016

Kemi Mobuse blog: How has the market reception been since inception?
Jobberguy: Yes 6 years. Well, it’s been rough...
For Web design, we have a lot of folks currently doing that in Nigeria, reason I branched into social media accounts management and Animations, which is quite unexplored in Nigeria. So recently, things have been looking up.
I get 6 to 20 clients every other month which is quite impressive, considering the situation in the country
Kemi Mobuse blog: What major challenges have you experienced?
Jobberguy: Well, I currently,  run a lean team,  3 guys,  and because of budget,  I have not been able to reach as much people as would require my service
Kemi Mobuse blog: What are a few personal web projects, that you have helped designed?
Jobberguy: I did an ecom site for an online shopping mall at www.gidistable.com
Did a site for a water treatment specialist; www.aquastratum.com amongst others

Kemi Mobuse blog: Can you give me an example of a situation, where someone challenged your design, how did you handle it?
Jobberguy: The ecom site I mentioned earlier,  it's quite difficult,  so there were push backs from the client with regards to aesthetics,  but I had to listen to the client,  since you know,  customer is king. I usually allow the client to dictate. Since at the end of the day, I don't ‘own’ the job, I   am just the techie

Kemi Mobuse blog: How would you handle a project that looks like it will go over the budgeted amount?
Jobberguy: In most cases, depending on the amount, I absorb.... Since I see each project as an ‘advert’ on its own. I get quite some referrals, so its most likely I will make the extra from the next client
Kemi Mobuse blog: How do ensure that your team understands the design and deliver your vision?
Jobberguy: Two words: communication and clarity
Kemi Mobuse blog: Do you plan to focus solely on this as a means of livelihood in the near future?

Jobberguy: Sure, once I get into the mainstream, where I get referrals from the big names in the media industry.... Especially for making animated Explainer Videos for Business, for that, as of now, we do not have many people doing this in Naija, but all businesses need it.

Kemi Mobuse blog: Any advice for upcoming entrepreneurs?
Jobberguy: Follow your passion, even if you are working for the best company in the world and your passion is different from your current job. Try to develop a skill set; you never can know when a company will fold up and you will be left out to dry
