As a blogger looking to promote entrepreneurship and creativity, being able to showcase the work of  a major designer is an important assignment. In addition to displaying their current projects and fashion house events, you also want to ask some background questions that brought about the designer's desire to venture into this field in the first place.

This is why KMB sought out the CEO of Koods Fashion School, who told us more about her journey and her work. Excerpts from the interview below;

Kemi Mobuse blog: Can we meet you?

Temikoods: My name is Temilade Kudehinbu, I'm a graduate of University of Lagos, Akoka and the CEO of Temikoods Fashion House.

Kemi Mobuse blog: What do you do?

Temikoods: What do I do? Hmmm...I could make a long list of the things I do which would include making of bags, shoes, clothes and also training of young(and even older)  talented people  but I will just sum that up and say I'm a fashion entrepreneur.

Kemi Mobuse blog: When did you decide you wanted to become a fashion designer?

Temikoods: I've always been interested in fashion but, I only decided to follow this path when I came across an Ankara purse...it was so beautiful and I thought to myself; I needed to learn and even better the design I saw. So I went ahead and learned it.

Kemi Mobuse blog: What is the name of your brand? And how old is it?

Temikoods: My brand name is Koods. The brand is a year old.

Kemi Mobuse blog: Where do you get your inspirations from?

Temikoods: I get inspiration from a lot of things but I think the most inspiring one for me is the African culture and way of life; our lifestyle, our food and of course; our fabrics. It's just beautiful.

Kemi Mobuse blog: I noticed you also have a fashion school, what is it about? And what does it aim to achieve?

Temikoods: Yes we do have a school, it offers training in fashion designing courses, bags, shoes and Accessories making.
Our aim is quite simple, it is to empower people who have a passion for crafts, promoting the African fashion and creating a unique brand.

Kemi Mobuse blog: What can you say is your favourite part of being a fashion designer?

Temikoods: My favourite part of being a designer is bringing designs in my head to life. I get to experiment and innovate. I like that a lot.
Also I enjoy the part where I count the cash after making a sale. Hehe!.

Kemi Mobuse blog: What will people be surprised to learn about you?

Temikoods: Hmmm... That's a hard question. Maybe the fact that I'm a great cook and that I'm a philanthropist.

Kemi Mobuse blog: Do you have a particular material that you always working with? Why that one in particular?

Temikoods: Well I love working with all types of materials and fabrics...some can be quite stressful when making certain items but I love the challenge.
I love kente fabrics, because they're usually so beautiful and colorful.

Kemi Mobuse blog: What advice do you have for upcoming entrepreneurs?

Temikoods: My advice to upcoming entrepreneurs is for them to stay determined, the economy might be discouraging right now but they should learn to work smart, find something or someone to motivate them (because there are times one might feel like giving up) but keep working hard, praying and believing.
