Damilola Oyekoya’s success in the fashion world stems from a case of reality of life catching up with her; its really tough out there. The young designer who also holds a white collar job by day, happened into the business by chance, when she had to help out a friend select her wedding dress. Devouring fashion magazines then, became her favourite pastime and sparked an interest in fashion designing. She now has an online store that delivers bespoke and quality bridal wears
The designer recently spoke with KMB about her foray into a fickle world, the situation that led her to start out and how her work has evolved since.
